2025 - Celebrating 11 Years of Violin Teaching!

Andrea's Violin Studio, (Andrea Lin Violin Studio) was founded in 2014, (11 Years ago). 

Notable highlights of Andrea's Teaching achievements includes -

• 1st Prize, 3rd Prizes at American Protegé International Competition 2019, 2021 respectively and performed at the Carnegie Hall (New York, USA) in the Winners' Recital. 

• 1st to 3rd Prizes at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition 2018 - 2021 (Europe). 

• 18 Distinctions for ABRSM Violin Exams from Grades 2 to 8 at both the Practical and Performance Exams from 2018 to 2025.

• Success in DSA-Sec and DSA-JC to MEP and String Ensembles through live auditions.

Some Notable Highlights

23 March 2025. Congratulations to Jing Tang on achieving a Distinction for her ABRSM Grade 8 (Practical) Exam taken on 18 March! Thank you to her parents for support! Wishing her all the best for her PSLE this year!! Time to focus on studies! I still remember her first lesson with me as a beginner! It is also my 18th Distinction (Practical and Performance included) in my teaching journey so far.

13 March 2025. Result is out today! Congratulations to Vivienne Janke on achieving a Distinction for her ABRSM Grade 7 (Practical) Exam taken 3 days ago! Thank you to her parents for support! It is also my 17th Distinction (Practical and Performance included) in my teaching journey so far.

3 March 2025. Result is out! Congratulations to my violin student, Kiara for achieving Distinction for her ABRSM Grade 6 Violin Performance Exam! It is also my 16th Distinction (Practical and Performance included) in my teaching journey so far.

13 January 2025. Exam Result has been released! My violin student, Jeremy scored Distinction for his ABRSM Grade 8 Violin Performance Exam taken on 30 December 2024. He was on hiatus for his studies for some time and but learnt well so far on his Grades 6 and 7 too. He has started his violin journey since his beginner classes with Andrea. Congratulations, Jeremy!!

21 March 2024: Results’ out today! Congratulations to my 9.5 yrs old Vivienne for achieving Distinction for her first exam – ABRSM Grade 6 Practical Exam!! Big improvement in her tone, sensitivity in her playing and note-reading skills when she came to me last year! 

21 February 2024: Results’ out today! Congratulations on scoring Distinction for his ABRSM Grade 8 Violin Performance Exam 2024! Xan started violin after PSLE with me as a beginner and was on 2 years’ hiatus for NS. His first exam was ABRSM Grade 5 Practical Exam- Distinction! Congratulations!! Thank you parents for supporting him on his musical journey! All the best for his studies in university!!

27 - 28 January 2024. C.E.J. Trio participated in the inaugural Singapore Chamber Music Festival 2024, held at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. They attended Chamber Music coaching sessions with Dr. Yang Shuxiang and Mr Lin Juan. The trio explored Five Pieces for Two Violins and Piano by Shostakovich. It was an interesting learning experience playing chamber music!
